Government Polytechnic Narayanpur was established in the year 2010 under "Sub-mission of Polytechnics under Integrated Action for Skill Development" of the 11th Five Year Plan of Government of India.
This institute was started in the educationally and industrially backward Narayanpur district of Bastar region with the objective of providing quality technical education to local and regional students at a reasonable cost.
In order to ensure that students from weaker income groups do not face the financial burden of education, the government provides them various kinds of financial assistance, which includes concession in tuition fees, scholarship and free books from the library under the Book Bank Scheme as well as stationery.
